I’ve been an English teacher since 1996, starting out at a private school and soon after I became an online tutor.

My goal during lessons is to guide and encourage my students to find the right solution on their own. I try to find common interests with my students and adapt lessons as need be, so that students enjoy learning. I love the opera and reading books. I enjoy travelling with my family and I’m currently brushing up on my French!

I have a bachelor’s degree in supply chain and operations management, and I am a British citizen. I also have a 150-hour TEFL certificate. All my studies have been done online, so I can relate very well to distance learning and the challenges and benefits that come with it. I can also speak a language called Afrikaans, which is my second language, so I can also understand what it is like to learn a second language. I decided to become an online teacher because I really enjoy watching my students grow and learn. It is also very interesting for me to interact with and learn about different cultures.

I have been teaching English for the last few years, mostly to Chinese, Russian, and Japanese students.

I first started teaching English and Drama in Indonesia. There my students were school age up to senior management, so my lessons were quite diverse. Recently I have been teaching English in Turkey to a very wide age group of different capabilities. I've prepared students for all types of exams from school entrance exams to becoming airline pilots for Turkish Airlines. I like to think of my lessons as a fun way of learning as I feel it helps keep you motivated.

I am a qualified TESOL teacher, I have my degree in Accounting Science and have online ESL experience for over 4 years which include teaching kids and adults alike from ages 4-65 my skills include grammar, pronunciation, level placement, dialogues, group classes and one on one classes. Prior to this I have been a junior teacher at a school in my home town for a year as well focusing on development of English in each student.

I am going to tell you a little bit about my background. I have studied a degree in Economics at the University of Nelson Mandela, in my home town in Port Elizabeth. Thereafter, I completed my Honors in Business management in 2018. While I was studying towards my commercial education, I also completed my TEFL course, because I have a passion for teaching English to the world. I started teaching English part-time in 2018 and I fell in love with it ever since. I have taught online through a local company called MPC Connect, where I taught children from 2 years and up, as well as adults. I also taught on all levels, from beginners, to English majors who want to brush up on their fluency and pronunciation. My lessons are very interactive and because of my big personality, my lessons are lots of fun! In my free time I like to swim and go to the gym.

I have been in the teaching industry for 8+ years. My approach to teaching is conforming to a students personality, thinking process, and learning preferences- ultimately creating a well-balanced, interactive, fun, and productive teaching environment that enhances the learning process.

My education and work experience are broad and include, IT, aviation, business management and entrepreneurship.

I have been working for Skyeng for over 6 years, and have two degrees. My undergraduate degree was in law, and I have a master’s degree in invest and strategic management. I am doing my second master’s degree in Economics. I also have a TEFL accreditation. For the last 8 years, I have taught students of ALL ages and English levels, and have prepared students for TOEFL and IELTS exams, job interviews, and language for living abroad.

My teaching style is centred around what you want to learn. The main goal is to get you to learn English by looking at what you like doing. We will focus on expanding your vocabulary, enhancing your grammar and learning creative English and phrases with idioms and metaphors.

Предпочитаю работать в свободной форме, преподавая материал не на «скорую руку» (поэтому не отдаю предпочтение в подготовке к экзаменам). Опыт преподавания в школе — около 5 лет, опыт преподавания репетитором — 7 лет. В основном, работаю с начальным и средним звеном. Не считаю применение методик для отдельно-взятых возрастов подходящим вариантом, так как больше отдаю предпочтение индивидуальному подходу. Какие-то детки — визуалы, какие-то — очень творческие, и для всех методики — разные.

В свободное время посвящаю себя семье, прогулкам и спорту. Английский — это язык, который открывает двери в новый мир, дарит возможности и новых друзей. А отличное знание английского выделяет тебя среди твоих сверстников! Главное — не бояться и не циклиться на том какую форму глагола to be вставить в предложение. Ошибаться — это совсем не страшно.
