I started teaching English because, at first, I liked to communicate with people and I liked helping others.

I believe that when teaching, it is important that students feel completely at ease with their teacher. I encourage my students to ask questions and assure them that making mistakes is part of the training. My class is a safe place to learn about different learning styles and opportunities. Lessons should be both educational and fun. Mutual respect between student and teacher is very important. Finding mutual understanding with your student will also help in open communication.

In my free time, I like to read, spend time in the fresh air, and spend time with my family and pets. I also keep fit by regularly running and walking.

I graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in geography with a focus on both cultural and physical geography. In addition, I have a technical degree in radio and television broadcasting from the New School of Radio and Television in New York. I utilized the experience I gained in my early professional years as a radio host and later on for several years in television for two major news networks.

I have been teaching and training adults for a long time through my years working in managerial positions, but my formal teaching experience started in 2010 when I began teaching at a private school for children. I have been teaching ESL to children and adults through various online platforms since 2017. I adapt my teaching style easily to the needs of students.

Hi, my name’s Mark and I have been teaching English as a foreign language for more than twelve years. I started teaching English when I was travelling in Thailand in 2004 as I thought it would be a great way to meet new people from all over the world.

I am now back in the United Kingdom which has given me the perfect opportunity to get into online teaching, where I can teach students from different time zones all across Europe and Asia.

My name is Marie-Louise, though people call me ML for short. I studied LLB Law at the University of South Africa with English as a first year major and I finally graduated with honours. A few years years back I embarked on an amazing journey which was also the start of my teaching career. I taught English in Thailand for various age groups for almost 2 years. I focused on public speaking and conversational English. It was amazing to travel, teach English as a second language and make a difference. I also taught English in Singapore for 6 months. Then I traveled to and explored other parts of Asia, the USA and Mexico. I love traveling, experiencing new places and learning new languages. For the last year I've been an English teacher and tutor in South Africa. 

I'm so excited to be teaching on Skyeng! I believe in key principles like being observant, having a real interest in students lives and backgrounds and making you feel comfortable in my presence. Giving recognition to keep you motivated is important. I also believe that the learning process must be fun. Teaching really is my passion and I absolutely love the English language.

My name is Tracie and I’m British, but currently living in Bulgaria. I have a BA in accountancy and studied CIMA accounting. I have a TEFL, a BEC (business English) and a certificate to teach English Grammar. Teaching experience: 11 years, both on and offline.

As a teacher my aim is to keep students motivated to learn to the best of their ability, and to have the confidence to use their English language skills in all situations. I am strict on pronunciation, but correct mistakes in a positive way – encouraging students to self -correct and realise their own mistakes to enhance understanding. I will teach you grammar, but will also advance your communication skills by teaching you how the language is used in the real world! I will give you lots of practice, and I encourage free speech – using appropriate topics that interest you as an individual. This will boost your confidence and allow you to speak fluently. Hello Everyone. My name is Janneke and I’m from Cape Town, South Africa. I have a Bachelor's degree in Languages and Cultures and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education.

I teach because, for me, it's the most effective and most enjoyable way to change the world.  Teaching allows me to work on hearts and minds, to guide people in becoming empowered, engaged, creative, liberated human beings. I love inspiring people and helping people learn more.

My teaching career started in Taiwan in 2009. I taught a wide range of ages, from three-year-olds in kindergarten to 50+ year old engineers in my Business English and Conversational English classes. After teaching abroad for three years, I returned to South Africa and continued with my teaching career here.

I thrive on creating a structured and vibrant learning environment for my students. My goal is to have my students interact confidently in each lesson in order for their speaking skills to improve. Employment history includes office manager, career guidance counsellor and language practitioner positions.
