My name is Thomas Clarke, though most of my friends call me Tom for short. I was born in Australia, and studied English Literature at Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia. As soon as I graduated in 2014 I left for Indonesia to teach English for a semester. That semester turned into a permanent move when I fell in love with the tropical weather and the woman who would later become my wife. I’ve been teaching English both in International Schools and online ever since.
I love teaching English, it’s been my career my whole adult life and I know personally the value of learning a second language. The greatest triumphs in my daily life are when I hear of a new promotion my students have gotten, a trophy they won, or a friend they met because of their English skills.
In my downtime I love to be with my family, enjoying wonderful scenery and food. I also enjoy kayaking, long rides on my motorbike and the occasional video game session. I love hearing about my students’ lives and hobbies, and I’m really looking forward to sharing some wonderful conversations together on skyeng.
